Biography

The soprano Barbara Marie-Louise Pavelka, who is both immensely versatile in terms of singing and acting, provides information about themes and projects that move her as a performing artist and singer through her  podcast "A Lyrical Singers Life".

To this end, she is currently setting up her own opera ensemble with colleagues in Austria.

Currently she is performing "Bastienne" in "Bastien and Bastienne", "La Chanson d'Ève" by Fauré and "Leonore" in Beethoven's "Fidelio" in a little adaptation.

The first production of the opera ensemble was the first oratorio of Mozart's "The Duty of the First Commandment", with which she graduated in Cultural Management in May 2018.

 

Since 2019 she is also a member of the ensemble of the "Romantic theater" in Lower Austria, where she plays operettas.

In July 2018 she attended a leading role  in the organization of the 1st Vienna Art Ball in cooperation with Forbes China, New Comos and the Operettenfestspiele Mörbisch, together with Stella Chang and Sonja Soukop.

In 2017, Barbara released her first Christmas CD, in which she wrote works by A. Adam, Bach, M. Reger and others under the name "Entre le boeuf et l'âne gris". has collected.

In 2017 she was a member of the ensemble of the Opera Academy Hamm. And work on "Hansel and Gretel" (Humperdink) both as a first cast of the witch as the mother and as a second cast of Gretel. In the past production of the operetta "Ten girls and no man" (Franz von Suppé) she sang the role of Josi. She also sang "Ave Maria" at the concert in the context of the Opera Academy Hamm.

 

She has performed in a variety of concerts in Austria and Germany, including Pergolesi's Stabat Mater, Schumann's Frauenliebe und Leben, Strauss's Last Leaves, and theme nights on Clair de Lune and Nachtigall with Baroque literature to Alban Berg. She also appeared in theater productions in Berlin, giving readings and speaking for the radio. She also likes to hold house concerts in Vienna.

Barbara completed her studies at the Vienna Conservatory with Gabriele Rösel in 2017, she received further impulses in her vocal training from KS Olivera Miljakovic, Susan Rigvava-Dumas, Martin Vacha solo singing but also Eva-Maria Valenta and Chris Kisielewski, where she studied jazz vocals.

Prior to her vocal studies, Barbara studied with Valentin Platareanu at the Schauspielschule Charlottenburg until 2007, learning tap dancing, ballet, tango argentino, flamenco, courtly dances as well as belly dancing. In 2008 she made her debut at the Summer Games Grein, where she gave Miss Denis and the messenger in "Victoria" (Sommerset Morghan). Already at the age of 13 she moved to the stage of the Stadttheater Wiener Neustadt. a. Angelique in "The Imaginary Sick" (Moliere), Lizzie in "The Honorable Whore" (Sartre) and the landlady in "The Tavern in Spessart" (Hauff).
